TALKING ABOUT SEXUAL HEALTH: A CLINICAL COMMUNICATION WORKSHOP
As many medical doctors are not comfortable with issues of sexuality in Singapore, we decided we wanted to bring a clinical-focused training to medical students. We partnered with guest doctors to facilitate a Clinical Communications-style roleplay, where some students would roleplay as patients, while others roleplayed as doctors, in 3 specific doctor-patient scenarios relating to a diverse range of sexual health issues. We also had 1 non-roleplay station where our guest doctor gave a talk on how medical professionals deal with sexual violence. After the session, students would get feedback on their performance, allowing them to improve in their communication style and content.
