What is the Community engagement camp (CEC)?
The Community Engagement Camp is an annual event organized by AMSA Singapore. The camp aims to raise awareness of the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) model and ensure sustainable development among communities in Singapore. This year, if the COVID- 19 situation would allow for it, we will try to hold CEC in a new hybrid format consisting of panel discussions with an esteemed group of speakers, interactive sessions for participants to bond with each other, and even a mini project for participants to work on, CEC 2021 promises to be a fruitful experience, opening participants’ eyes to the various models of community development, and equipping them with the practical skill sets required for them to step up and strengthen their own communities through a bottom-up approach. CEC is one of the few AMSA SG events that is non-exclusive to our members, as we believe these skills are not just important for medical students, but all youths who strive to make a positive impact in society.
CEC 2022 will be held in early January 2022.
