The inaugural AMSA SG Fair was held on 24th March 2016 at MD1, NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine.
This year, there were a total of 7 booths: SGMarrow, IFMSA Malta Meet, AMSEP Hong Kong, AMSEP Japan, AMSEP London, AMSEP Tasmania and 2016 Taipei EAMSC. Participants from the various AMSA events and exchanges came together to share their experiences with one another. With interesting displays and presentations by the participants, we are sure that everyone learnt more about what AMSA SG offers.
Musical and dance performances were something not to be missed in the Fair as well! The performances were so engaging that you might mistake them for professionals, yet they were performed by Singapore’s very own talented medical students from both NUS and NTU which wowed the audience. Goodie bags and a dinner buffet with a wide spread of food were provided too, along with a photobooth where participants could take pictures and have their pictures printed.
The event attracted more than 100 medical students and AMSA members, who enjoyed the performances, food and learnt about different AMSA SG events. The event concluded with a speech from the AMSA President, followed by a grand lucky draw, in which some lucky participants walked away with amazing prizes!
Given that this is the first AMSA SG Fair, it was quite a successful one! We hope the participants have enjoyed it as much as we do, and we are excited for AMSA SG Fairs in the many years to come!
